Evalube Holds Free Medicinal Treatment
Prior to the 2009 Christmast, Evalube lubricant oil producer PT Wiraswasta Gemilang Indonesia (WGI) held a free medicinal treatment on Saturday (5/12) for local people who live just around Kerta Rahayu village, Setu sub-district, Bekasi regency. The event was organized by the company with the support of 11 paramedic crews consist of six doctors and five nurses with the help of WGI staffs. In that day, there are more than 350 local people received free medical treatment in which most of them are elderly people who have complaint about bone ache and short of breath. President Director PT WGI, Ari Batubara witnessed this activity.
Most of people in Kerta Rahayu village are farmers and some of them work as on-an-off labor who barely received medical services even from the local government. T he closest Puskesmas (the state-owned public health service) locates quite remote from the village and there is no public transportation to reach the place. The mobile Puskesmas only serves the area once in a month.
Believing that business and society are interdependent, co-exist and can promote cooperation, PT WGI initiated to provide various type of social acitvities that specifically designed for those who need more attention. Since the year 2000, PT WGI has organized social actions focused to the people who live surround the area where the company’s factory locates, such as to offer them to perform Hajj.
